Surveillance (Article 5);
a)      Each State Party shall develop, strengthen and maintain capacity to detect, assess, notify and report events in accordance with Regulations and Annex 1.
b)      Each State Party shall report to World Health Organization (WHO) on the implementation plan to strengthen capacities for Surveillance, Reporting, Notification, Verification, Response and collaboration of activities in designated Airports, Ports and Ground crossings.
c)      World Health Organization shall assist States Parties to develop, strengthen and maintain capacity to detect, assess, notify and report of events.
d)      World Health Organization shall collect information from events through its Surveillance activities and assess their potential to cause International disease spread and possible interference with International traffic (Annex 1).
Notification of Public Health Information (Article 6);
a)      Each State Party shall notify World Health Organization (WHO) by the most efficient means of communication available through the National International Health Regulations (IHR) Focal Point within 24 hours, Events constituting Public Health Emergency of International Concern and Health measures implemented (Annex 2).
b)      Each State Party shall communicate to WHO on Case definition of a disease, Laboratory results, Source and type of risk, number of Cases and Deaths caused by the disease, Factors for the spread and Health measures employed for the disease.
Information sharing during unexpected or unusual Public Health Events (Article 7);
Notification of unexpected or unusual Public Health Events to World Health Organization by the most efficient means of communication.
Consultation (Article 8);
States Parties shall consult with World Health Organization on Events for which there is insufficient information available for appropriate Health measures and assistance.
Other Reports (Article 9);
States Parties shall inform World Health Organization within 24 hours evidence of Public Health Risk identified outside their territories that may cause International disease spread as manifested by exported or imported human cases, Vectors which carry infection or contamination or contaminated goods.
Verification of Information (Article 10);
Each State Party shall verify reports from sources other than Notifications or Consultations and to provide to World Health Organization within 24 hours by the most efficient means available.
Provision of Information by World Health Organization (Article 11);
World Health Organization shall send to all States Parties and other Intergovernmental Organizations Public Health Information for them to respond to the Public Health Risk.
Determination of a Public Health Emergency of International Concern (Article 12);
Depends on information provided by the State Party, Decision instrument concerned in Annex 2, Advice of the Emergency Committee, Scientific Principles and the assessment of risk to human health, risk of International spread of disease and of the risk of interference with International traffic.
Public Health Response (Article 13);
a)      Each State Party shall develop, strengthen and maintain capacity to respond to Public Health Risk and Public Health Emergency of International Concern and World Health Organization will support the development of the capacities.
b)      On request, World Health Organization collaborates in response and mobilizes International team of experts for an on site assistant and assessment of severity of Public Health Risks and Public Health of Emergencies of International Concern and adequacy of Control measures.
Cooperation of World Health Organization with Intergovernmental Organizations and International Bodies (Article 14);
World Health Organization shall cooperate and coordinate its activities with Intergovernmental Organizations or International Bodies in the implementation of the Regulations and agreements.
